Welcome to the Illinois dietary Managers Association website. The IDMA, a little more than 45 years old, is an organization of professionals dedicated to providing optimum nutritional care through food service management in many diverse operations. This web site is available to readily share information and provide networking opportunities for members of IDMA and the public community.
Greetings Members, Students, and Friends;
I was excited to see everyone at our fall and spring meetings. Those were our first state meetings following the dissolving of the districts. If you were unable to attend we hope to see you at our next state meeting. Watch this website for information on the fall meeting.
We are very excited about our state chapter. Joyce Salvador accepted the State Achievement Award – Platinum level – on behalf of the membership in Philadelphia. The State also received recognition for Government Affairs, Membership, and Newsletter. Thanks to all who helped gather the information needed to submit for these recognitions.
The Goals for the Chapter this Year are:
Much hard work and planning go into bringing our State meetings together for you. The members asked that we return to moving the spring meeting around the State and to offer a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education in 2 days. I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I look forward to seeing you at a future State IDMA meeting.
Illinois DMA will be sponsoring a booth at the Illinois Consultant Dietitians in Healthcare Facilities Workshop on June 19, 2009 in the Chicago area.
Get involved with Legislature on the State/National level. Encourage your Congressmen in DC to recognize the CDM Credential.
The annual DMA meeting is in Atlanta, Georgia in 2009. Illinois members attending will be encouraged to attend the leadership training session and group luncheon/supper together again this year.
Help celebrate DMA’s 50th Anniversary in 2010 with the anniversary cookbook being offered by the DMA Foundation. Remember to submit your (2) recipes and order some for gifts for your friends and yourself.
If I can be of assistance to you, please contact me. As we work as a team, we can help the Association and ourselves grow.
David Hollis, CDM, CFPP
President of IDMA
