Welcome to the Illinois dietary Managers Association website. The IDMA, a little more than 45 years old, is an organization of professionals dedicated to providing optimum nutritional care through food service management in many diverse operations. This web site is available to readily share information and provide networking opportunities for members of IDMA and the public community.
Thank you for your support this year. Illinois DMA is working towards submitting information for the Membership, Government Affairs, and State Achievement Awards.
The newsletter is on the web site. Please contact Sue Rinkenberger or myself with information for the newsletter. As the National Election is heard about every day, please
try to help your District officers to hold District elections. Volunteer yourself or encourage others to run for office. District Presidents should also complete the Land
of Lincoln application available on this web site. Volunteers are needed for offices at the State level too.
The goals for the Chapter this year are:
1. Continue to increase awareness of DMA to the legislative branches, potential employers, potential members, vendors, the members, allied associations, and to those in need of our help.
2. Continue to improve communication with the State membership and Board and the National office.
3. Network with the Consulting Dietitians emphasizing a “Team” effort.
4. Continue to coordinate web site with National DMA to include newsletter.
5. Explore with all members possible ways to improve the District structure to build a stronger state organization.
6. Encourage members to volunteer at all levels as officers or for committees.
Central District is planning the Spring Workshop. Please try to attend on April 25, 2008.
Illinois DMA was sponsoring a booth at the Illinois Consultant Dietitians in Healthcare Facilities Workshop. Weather conditions interfered and meeting now scheduled for June 5, 2008. Please try to communicate to your Consulting Dietitian the importance of adding the terminology of the CDM credential to regulations for nursing homes.
The Annual DMA meeting is in Philadelphia in 2008. Illinois members attending will enjoy a group lunch/supper together again this year.
If I can be of assistance to you, please contact me. As we work as a team, we can help the Association and ourselves to grow.
See you in April!
Joyce Salvador, CDM, CFPP
President of IDMA
