Dietary managers Association is a national not-for-profit association established in 1960 that today has over 15,000 professionals dedicated to the mission of providing optimum nutritional care through food service management.  Dietary Managers Association is the premier professional association for foodservice managers, directors and those aspiring to careers in foodservice management.

South Dakota was officially incorporated as a Dietary Managers Association state chapter on September 7, 1966.  Currently there are approximately 150 Certified Dietary Managers in South Dakota Dietary Managers Association.  These individuals work in the areas of healthcare Including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, schools, correctional facilities and other non commercial establishments serving the public throughout the state.   A certified Dietary Manager has the education, training, and experience to perform the responsibilities of a dietary manager and has proven this by passing a nationally-recognized credentialing exam and maintaining 45 hours of continuing  education within a three year period.

South Dakota Dietary Managers Association board of directors is members who volunteer and are elected to their offices by all members of our state chapter.  Volunteers also are on many committees that enable SDDMA to meet their goals and mission statement.

Thank you to all of the past, present and future volunteers for making SDDMA a continuing success.
