Credentialing Exam Results FAQ
If you have recently taken the exam and have questions, we invite you to review the frequently asked questions below. Also, please remember that once you become a CDM, CFPP, you need to maintain your credential.
Q: I didn't get my results letter yet. Can't you please tell me whether or not I passed, or can't I call ACT and ask?
A: Test results are only released to the examinee by mail. No results can be given by phone or fax by either DMA or ACT. Once the results have been in the mail for 10 business days, you may request duplicate results letters from ACT.
Q: What was the passing score?
A: Passing scores are determined by the CBDM each year, based upon statistical analysis from ACT. For the March 2008 exam, the cut score (minimum score to pass) is 120.
Q: How many people passed?
A: For the March 2008 exam, 70.3% passed.
Q: Can I get a copy of my exam or the questions that I missed?
A: For security purposes, we cannot release copies of the examination, or even the questions that were missed. Those who failed the exam receive a breakdown of each competency area covered on the test along with the maximum score needed in each area and their score in each area. This will help them determine what areas to concentrate on when studying again.
Q: When do I get my certificate?
A: Those who took the exam as members will be receiving their certificates and additional certification information within approximately 5-6 weeks. They will not be charged any additional upgrade fees. Those who took the exam as non-members must pay a fee first to register their certification. They will receive a mailing explaining the benefits of membership and the fees. They do not receive certificates until they have responded to the mailing.
Q: Do I have to pay again to retake the exam?
A: Yes, you do have to fill out the application and pay registration fees each time.
